The PTC Ministry Conference was established by Rev David Cook & Rev Peter Hastie following the success that similar training events provided during David’s tenure as Principal at SMBC. The Ministry Conference focusses on expository preaching and the training and development of preachers, and is suitable to be used for Professional Development or Study Leave by Pastors and Elders of the Presbyterian Church, or other ministries.

Speakers
David Cook
Rev David Cook served as the Principal of the Sydney Missionary and Bible College for 26 years until his retirement in 2011. David was the Moderator-General of the Presbyterian Church of Australia from 2014 to 2016, and has authored several books.
Today, David is the Lecturer for Preaching at the Presbyterian Theological College in Melbourne and also Trustee of the Expository Preaching Trust.
David and his wife, Maxine, have five adult children and 15 grandchildren.
Peter Barnes
Rev Dr Peter Barnes is the current Moderator-General of the Presbyterian Church of Australia and the Minister of Revesby Presbyterian Church, NSW.
Peter has a PhD in History and teaches at Christ College, Burwood, NSW.
Peter is also known for his involvement with the Banner of Truth and is the current Editor of AP, the National Journal of the Presbyterian Church in Australia.
Peter and his wife, Lyn, have raised six children in a Presbyterian manse.
Stuart White
Stuart White grew up in a Presbyterian manse, and is now the Campus Director for the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES) at Monash University, Victoria.
Stuart also works for the Centre for Biblical Preaching, developing their web-ministry & training for preachers.
In his spare time Stuart writes as a contributor for The Gospel Coalition, Australia.
Stuart and his wife have three young children.
David Burge
Rev Dr David Burge served with Pioneers in Mongolia from 2004, where David lectured in New Testament, Theology & Preaching.
After returning to Australia, David served as the minister of Walcha Presbyterian, NSW, and is now the minister at Drummoyne Presbyterian, NSW. He is also currently a lecturer at Sydney Missionary and Bible College, where he first met his wife Ashleigh.
David and Ashleigh have three sons and a daughter, and previously lived on campus with the SMBC community.
Andrew Hastie
The Hon Andrew Hastie MP grew up in two Presbyterian manses: at Wangaratta, in regional Victoria, and Ashfield, in metropolitan Sydney, NSW.
Andrew previously served as an officer with the elite SAS Regiment of the Australian Defence Force. He is now the Federal Member for Canning and the Assistant Minister for Defence in the Morrison Government.
Andrew and his wife, Ruth, live in Mandurah, WA, with their two young children.

All Catered Registrations must be received by midnight Monday 1st March 2021.
All Self-Catered and Online Registrations must be received by midnight Wednesday 3rd March 2021.
Please note: Due to COVIDSafe Density Quotients, the PTC has a maximum capacity which limits the number of Desk Seating and Regular Seating options available. Once the onsite registration capacity has been reached, online options will remain available. Please contact the Office by phone or email if you have difficulty booking your desired registration option, to confirm availability. Priority for Desk Seating will be given to students enrolled in the ‘Preaching I’ semi-intensive unit.
Catering
Those who select the catered option when registering will enjoy individually boxed gourmet lunches including: a baguette or savoury lunch item, a sweet treat, and fresh fruit - from Taylor Made Gourmet, with a cold drink supplied by the PTC.
Morning Tea (inc. tea & coffee) will be generously provided for all onsite, regardless of Catering option selected, provided by Tally Ho Catering.
Please nominate your Dietary Requirements when registering so that we can best cater for you.
Barista made coffee and other hot beverages will also be available for purchase every day of the Conference, provided by our friends at ALT + T Coffee!

Student information
This conference is available to attend as a stand-alone event, but also functions as part of the content for our semi-intensive unit, 'Preaching I’ (PC047-612/712/812).
Students enrolled in this subject, and other full-time PTC students, may attend the Conference free of charge. Catering is also available at a small cost if desired. Please contact the Office to confirm the correct registration option & discount code for eligible students.
