Online study options

  PTC offers many units online to enable students from all over Australia and overseas to study with us.

ONLINE AWARDS

Online units can be taken in any of PTC’s coursework awards, including the Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Ministry, Master of Divinity, and Master of Theological Studies.

Awards that can be completed entirely online are:

• Certificate of Theology (CertTh)

• Academic Studies in Theology Certificate (ASTC), with Chinese option

• Undergraduate Certificate of Ministry or Theology

• Diploma of Ministry or Theology

• Graduate Certificate of Divinity

• Graduate Diploma of Divinity

VIDEO-CONFERENCED ONLINE UNITS

Many of PTC’s online units are offered via video conference. The lectures are held live, and students can join the class by Microsoft Teams. This maximises the ability of students to engage with the lectures, to ask questions, and to join in discussion. Participation in the video conferences is not compulsory, though. Students can watch the recordings of the lectures at whatever time is suitable.

PTC routinely makes available by video conference some of the most popular on-campus units: the introductory units in Old Testament, New Testament, and Church History, four theology units, and two counselling units. These are not available online every semester, but in the semester in which the on-campus unit offered.

RECORDED ONLINE UNITS

Some online units have recorded lectures, and are available to study in any semester. This includes all the online certificate level units. See cert.ptc.edu.au.

PTC’s August intensives, typically with visiting lecturers from overseas, are often recorded and made available online. These are especially suitable for higher level studies (levels 8-9) in the Master of Theological Studies (MTS). For example:
