Overview

The subject covers the various issues in the book of Samuel, and looks at key themes and theology. There is also a focus on the use of the book for today, and particularly on preaching from Samuel. For exegesis, the following texts will be examined.
English exegesis text: 1 Samuel 1-12, and 2 Samuel 5-7, 15-18.
Hebrew exegesis text: 1 Samuel 8, 10, 11:14- 12:25, and 2 Samuel 5-7.

METHOD

Classroom instruction and discussion; essay learning tasks and assignments.
