Topic: Christian Political Engagement in Light of the Relationship Between Church and State When: Thursday 27 February 2025 from 7:00pm Where: 684 Elgar Road, Box Hill North 3129 Light supper will be provided. RSVP HERE About the Speaker Dr Michael Stead is the Australian Anglican Bishop of South Sydney. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW, Bachelor of Divinity (Hons) and Diploma of Ministry from Moore College, and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy by the University of Gloucestershire. Dr Stead serves on the Executive Committee of the General Synod and has been the Secretary of the General Synod Doctrine Commission since 2005. He was previously the rector of St James Turramurra and a part-time Old Testament lecturer at Moore Theological College. His research interests include Biblical Theology, the Atonement, Hermeneutics and Eschatology. He has written five books and many articles including Zechariah - The Lord Returns (Sydney, Aquilla Press, 2015) and Christ Died for Our Sins: Essays on the Atonement From the Doctrine Commission of the Anglican Church of Australia (Editor, Canberra, Barton Books, 2013) among others.

The Ministry Conference focusses on expository preaching and the training and development of preachers and church leaders, and is suitable to be used for Professional Development or Study Leave by Pastors and Elders of the Presbyterian Church, or other ministries. REGISTER HERE Meet the Speakers Dr Russell St John Lead Pastor Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church (PCA) in St Louis, USA and Visiting Instructor of Homiletics at Covenant Theological Seminary. Rev Dr Russell St John hails from Washington State where he studied history at the Washington State University before pursuing a Master of Divinity at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. He has a Doctor of Ministry and a PhD in the field of preaching, and has served as an active duty Navy Chaplain. When not working, you might find Russ reading, napping, writing, fishing, or just enjoying his family. Russ and his wife, Amy, have been married for twenty plus years They have six children, one German Shepherd, and a Great Dane. Dr Eugene Hor Minister GracePoint Presbyterian Church (Sydney) and Adjunct Lecturer In Preaching and Communication at Christ College Sydney. Rev Dr Eugene Hor is an ordained minister in the PCV. He studied Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Philosophy at the University of New South Wales and worked as an IT professional, before commencing his training for pastoral ministry. He has a Bachelor of Theology from Moore Theological College and Master of Arts in Theology from Christ College Sydney. He is completing his Doctor of Ministry at Ridley College, Melbourne. Eugene is married to Pauline and they have two children - Joshua and Ashleigh. Catering Those who select the catered option when registering will enjoy individually boxed gourmet lunches including: a baguette or savoury lunch item, a sweet treat, and fresh fruit, with a cold drink supplied by the PTC. Morning Tea (inc. tea & coffee) will be generously provided for all onsite, regardless of Catering option selected.
