This subject gives an understanding of the expansion of the church from the apostolic age to the present day; the motives and methodologies involved in the churches’ missionary outreach are examined and evaluated; the continuing influence of previous missionary policy on the subsequent development of the churches’ missionary task is examined. There is also an opportunity for candidates to focus on the history of mission in particular areas.
