The subject surveys the contents of the first part of the Old Testament, namely the Pentateuch and Former Prophets. Students will acquire an overall acquaintance with the text of the Old Testament, ensuring they have an appreciation of the Ancient Near Eastern background, and an understanding of the major theological themes.
